“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.” Nahum 1:7REFUGE Jr. High Ministry is a community of people devoted to loving, serving, and pushing one another towards coming into a deeply rooted relationship with Jesus Christ. We remind ourselves and these students what is written in Nahum 1:7, that God is good and is our firm foundation in all circumstances, all we must do is take REFUGE in him.
:: OUR VISION ::To have students step up and step out in their faith through acts of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism throughout their community, all while creating an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ that is real and personal to them.
:: MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR ::My name is Justin Gray, and I have been serving REFUGE Jr. High for nearly 5 years. I was a volunteer leader for 3 years, and then God called me to take over the ministry in 2014. I am unlike most Youth Pastors in the sense that I have not attended any form of Bible College, however, I have gained the knowledge and experience needed through working at Forest Home Christian Camps for 3 years. From that experience, my approach for the ministry is simple: to create a body of people who love to love each other. Through my years of camp, I have experienced what true community is all about, and it’s simply the love of Christ. This is the reason behind each and every event and meeting we do, to establish a community that is on fire for Christ. I cannot wait to see how God uses my staff and I to guide your students through Junior High, and I cannot wait to see how God used your students to guide my staff and I through the craziness of life.
As it is written in 1 John 3:18, “Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and truth.” This is the reminder I strive to set every meeting and interaction I have with these students, to love in accordance to the truth of the Gospel.
